Friends of Second Marsh (FSM) is a registered Canadian charity. FSM is dedicated to wetland and environ-mental education, and to the stewardship of Second Marsh and its watershed. Due to the current situation, FSM is moving the Kids in the Marsh summer day camp to a virtual platform. FSM is hiring for a work-from-home position. We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative person to develop a fun and educational camp program online.

Position: Program Coordinator

Rate of Pay:  $16.75/hour for 35 hours/week
Start Date/Duration:  Monday, June 29, 2020 for 8 weeks

Position Description:
– Work in collaboration with FSM staff to create materials for an environmentally themed virtual camp. The position will involve creating lessons, activities and crafts based on weekly/daily camp themes. These materials will be posted on the FSM website and shared via social media on a daily basis for the month of July and August.
– Assist in the creation of a social media plan for the organization.
The successful applicant will:
– Work from home
– Need to have access to the internet
– Need to have access to a publishing program (Microsoft Publisher or similar publishing programs)
– Be provided with a work desktop computer with necessary software (if needed)

Eligibility for Position:
– Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
– Legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident)
Preferred Skills and Experience:
– Good knowledge of environmental issues as well as tree, plant, bird, insect, amphibian, reptile and mammal identification
– Past experience working with children and can gear materials towards children of all ages
– Can work independently and with minimal supervision
– Organized and has good time management skills
– Good written and verbal skills
– Good knowledge of how to search the internet successfully
